Laurel and Hardy were in SWANSEA in 1952, to appear at the Empire Theatre. They were so enamoured with the locals, that they often sat on the balcony of the Mackworth Hotel, waving to the passers-by.

They should have played the Swansea Empire again, in 1954,
but the tour was cancelled the week before, owing to Hardy's illness
