COVENTRY HIPPODROME |
ABBEY HOTEL, Priory Road, |
Laurel and Hardy played the Coventry Hippodrome twice. In 1947 they appeared there for two weeks. They were back in 1952, but then, for some unknown reason, didn't return during the 1953-54 tour. In 1947 the Boys uncharactereristically stayed at different hotels. Stan Laurel stayed at the Abbey Hotel, in Kenilworth, while Oliver Hardy stayed at the Clarendon, in Leamington Spa. Just why, is disclosed in the book. In 1952 they stayed at the Chesford Grange Hotel, in Kenilworth. |
